Schoolhouse Teachers

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this product for review, all opinions are 100% my own.

When I had the opportunity to review Schoolhouse Teachers I was excited. It’s a site created by The Old Schoolhouse, so I knew it would be good. But I didn’t realize just HOW good it would be!

When I first logged in I spent hours exploring the site, there is just so much there for all age ranges. I strongly recommend watching the site tour video before jumping in.

The teachers in this program are well known specialist in their areas:

Terri Johnson ~ Geography Kim Kautzer ~ Writing Diana Waring ~ History Adam Andrews ~ Literature Hands of a Child Team ~ Lapbooking and many, many more!

When you log in your greeted with a top menu with sections, Home, Schoolhouse Teachers, Schoolhouse Dailies, Schoolhouse Extras, Schoolhouse Library, Schoolhouse Site Tour and Schoolhouse Samples.

Lastly is the Schoolhouse Samples I mentioned earlier.

So how have we been using this resource? Well, I’m trying to not let myself get overwhelmed by how much wonderful content is there! A large amount of it is available in PDF downloads, so I’ve created folders on my pc to save them to. That takes the pressure off to work through them right away.

Our internet is sometimes fussy and can go out for a day or two.  Having the items on my hard drive means I can print them whenever I need.

I just love the daily activities! Some weeks I’ve been using just these, and some times I mix them with programs we are already using. They make for a great change when the kids are getting that glazed over look.

I also love the PrK/K programs! That they are literature based and then have activity suggestions is a perfect fit for our reading family.

Last but certainly not least, I adore their planners! I will have to do a separate post on these as there is just too much info to add in here.  They include nearly 800 pages of calendars, lesson planners, and many articles of inspiration.

I really could not come up with anything I didn’t like about this site. My only small suggestion is that some of the lessons are not available in PDF.  PDF’s are much easier for me to download and load on to my Kindle.  I don’t like having to always have an internet connection to access our lessons.

However, this is a small issue and doesn’t take away from how much I love this site. There is a wide variety of lessons for all styles of learners. My children that prefer worksheets are happy as are my hands-on learners.

A membership to the Schoolhouse Teachers is only $1.00 for the first month, after that it’s just $5.95 a month. There is also a yearly subscription option of $64.26, that’s 10% discount. You can view pricing info and sign up here.
