Supplies Needed
- Bug counting to 10 puzzle PDF (download at the end)
- Paper
- Laminating pouches (optional)
- Laminator (optional)
- Scissors
These cute bug counting puzzles take only a few minutes to prepare!
That is so important because as much as I like organizing and getting our learning supplies ready, I would rather be DOING fun activities with my kids!
How To Prepare The Counting Puzzles
Getting the puzzles ready is so easy! Really all you need to do is print the pages out onto normal printer paper, laminate each page and cut the puzzle strips out.
I recommend laminating the puzzle pieces because it makes them last so much longer.
If you don’t have a laminator then you could print them onto card stock instead but it’s isn’t as durable.
I wrap each puzzle in an elastic band and store them in a plastic bag so they are easy to find. This also makes them easy to grab and go if you’re heading out on a trip.

Ideas For Using Bug Counting To 10 Puzzles
These math puzzles are perfect for preschoolers and kindergarten, even some toddlers will enjoy playing with them.
If your child is just learning how to count you can help them put the puzzle together. Every few pieces you could stop and count the numbers along the bottom together.
As your child gains more confidence in counting they can start putting the puzzle together on their own.

Once they are very good at counting you can make the puzzle more challenging by mixing multiple bug puzzles together!

Thanks Kim for all your hard work. I know how long it takes to develop these resources. I work with Special Needs students at different levels and areas of interest so keeping on top is hard work. So thank you again. 🙂

Hi,
Where are the
Links? I subscribed but don’t see the download links anywhere?
Hi Barbara, I’m sorry you’re having trouble finding the links. After you click the confirmation email you should then receive an email with the download link inside. The subject line would be “Here’s your counting to 10 bug puzzles”. Often these emails get stuck in the promotions folder or junk folder. Let me know if you can’t find the email.
I’ve used these before with my students but had a black and white version for students to color. I can’t find that this time. Do you still have that version available for download? Thank you!
Thank you for the really cute insect puzzles. My little student will really enjoy them. It would be awesome if there was a black outline version that could be printed and colored. That colored ink is so expensive!
Thank you!
I love the idea of utilizing pictures. Our little ones will have fun in learning the sequence of counting.
