Super Teacher Worksheets ~ Review

It's not always easy to find just the right worksheet, is it? I often spend hours making my own or searching the internet for just the right printable for a lesson.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this product for review, all opinions are 100% my own.

I've recently had the opportunity to try out an individual membership to the Super Teacher Worksheets website. I have to say this is a wonderful resource for homeschoolers and teachers!

When you log in to the site on the left-hand side of the screen is a long menu bar. This is where all the main topics are listed. You can view many of the subtopics here but to see a full list click on the "more" at the bottom to open a new page that lists every worksheet activity for that topic.

This also shows related topics on that page just in case you don't find what you're looking for.

When your looking at the worksheet categories each worksheet is listed individually with a title and a brief description. Under that is a blue bar with the options to view the PDF, a magnifying glass that is your preview option, and a file folder icon.

The file folder icon lets you quickly save the worksheet to your personal file cabinet on Super Teacher Worksheets.

I can't say enough how much I love the file cabinet feature! It is so easy to search for topics of interest and then save them for later use. This way you don't have to bookmark things in your browser or try to search for them again later.

Under each worksheet, it tells you if it's suggested for 1st grade, 2nd grade, etc. That helps to make it quick and easy to find what you're looking for. I don't have a huge amount of time to open many worksheets to see if it's too high or low for each child's level. Since I can preview so much before opening this makes the selection so fast!

Most of the worksheets on the website are made for students in Kindergarten through the 5th grade. However, there are resources for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades as well and they are adding more for the higher grades. I'm looking forward to seeing what will be added!

Super Teacher Worksheets doesn't just offer "normal" worksheets. This site reminds me more of what the homeschooling world calls "printables".

There are math games, phonic mini books, flashcards,  activity pages, report templates, memory match games and so much more!  Many of these elements would make great additions to lapbooks.

How We Have Been Using Super Teachers Worksheets

Normally I'm not a big fan of using worksheets for busy work. However, some of our kids just love worksheets and I do like to use them for extra practice. We are working on some unit studies currently.

As a family, we are studying China and with my younger children, we are using the Five in a Row study on The Story About Ping.

I searched Super Teacher Worksheets on some of the topics in our unit study. I found a number of maps for China.

Some are blank line maps, some are pre-labeled. Some of the maps give a lot of detail and some just listed the major cities and rivers. The later one was perfect for my younger kids!

I've also been using the phonics and handwriting worksheets for our younger children who need some extra practice. Currently, we are starting to work on fall activities and I love that they have separated some activities into seasonal themes.

There are math sheets that you need to solve the math problem to know what colour to fill in each section. There are make-a-word games to use a fall-themed word like "scarecrow" to make as many words out of as you can. Giant scarecrows to build and lots of other ideas.

What Do I Think?

I have to say I've been really impressed with Super Teacher Worksheets. They offer a wonderful selection of printables that save me a lot of time! While many of the worksheets are suggested for the lower grades many can easily be stretched up to the 6th grade level.

I love that there are different generators so you can create your own worksheets! They are available for many topics. For example, you can choose to make a basic subtraction worksheet or an advanced one.

On the advanced one you can choose if you want vertical or horizontal problems and if you want borrowing or not.

You can make your own bingo game sets and flashcards! How fun to include in your unit studies.  You can also make your own word searches, crossword puzzle, word scramblers, and missing letter printables for spelling.

Do you give tests? You can create your own quizzes!

How wonderful to be able to custom-make a quiz for what you’re studying. You can choose between multiple choice, matching, fill in the blanks, and short answer/essay tests. Even better you can SAVE your test to your custom filing cabinet to reuse later.
