Review ~ Family Time Fitness

Exercise is so important to keeping healthy, yet I rarely hear it talked about in homeschool circles.  Now our kids, like most are very active. Much of their extra time is spent biking, playing games, climbing tree, etc. But it's really nice to have a little structure to it as well.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this product for review, all opinions are 100% my own.

So I was really excited when we had the opportunity to review Family Time Fitness! We received the Core 1 program.

Family Time Fitness is a program designed for, yes the whole family! Spending time with your kids is great and having fun playing active games is a bonus. Family Time Fitness is designed for grades K to 8.

It consists of 260 lesson plants that are built on repetition yet progress in a sequential form building upon skills learned. This program is meant to be done for 30 to 45 minutes, at least 3 days a week.

Naturally, you can choose any time of the day for your PE activities. Over the summer we did it first thing in the morning, before the temperatures outside soared.

Now that the weather is cooling off and our yard is wet from the dew until late morning, we find mid-afternoon is a great time. Many of these activities can easily be done indoors for rainy days!

Supplies needed are very basic and we had most laying around the house already. Bean bags, jump ropes, hula hoops, and balls, are a few of the items.

A fitness mat is also suggested, but since we don't have one let alone 5, we just used blankets or cushions. It worked great!

I love that each activity comes with a link to a video. Not sure what in the world a starfish is?  Or a crab walk? Just click the link and you're taken right to a video that shows you the exercise!

Included in the program are assessment forms. These help you to keep track of what activities you've done and how many or how fast you can complete them.

Our kids think it's fun to see how they progress. I plant to do a check just for fun every few months.

What do we think?  Our kids LOVED the program, and I also have enjoyed it. It's an extra fun part of the day that ALL the kids can do together. Many of the games are played at other times of the day.

I've also used it for rainy-day ideas. Family Time Fitness has been a wonderful addition to our days. If your looking at an economical PE program, Family Time Fitness might be right for you!
