This activity is simple but fun to get started. Have your child say the number shown on the page out loud.

Then, they can make the number by making a playdough snake and wrapping it to fit the number or fill in the number in any way they like.

Next, roll enough play dough balls to make the number and place them into the frame. Again count the numbers out loud as they place them.

Finally, they can make the correct number of ornaments out of playdough and place them onto the Christmas tree.

They can make simple balls as ornaments or use playdough tools to shape stars or whatever they like.

If they are able to they can practice reading the number word under the tree or tracing over it with their finger.

Alternatively, these mats can be used with a dry erase maker, and your child could draw the objects and trace the numbers instead if they like.

Simple objects like foam stickers (unpeeled) in Christmas shapes, pompoms, or your favourite math counters could be used to decorate the tree and fill in the frames too.
